2026 Primary Election - Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Rather than listing all Democrats who have expressed interest in running for office in 2026, we are providing the following link to Arizona's Statements of Interest Filed page:
https://apps.arizona.vote/electioninfo/SOI/68
The table can be sorted by any column, the most useful being Office Sought and Party.
Statement from the website:
Filing a Statement of Interest indicates that a person is collecting petition signatures for a possible nomination. However, it is not a formal declaration of candidacy – filing a nomination paper is the formal declaration of candidacy. Filing a Statement of Interest also does not mean that a candidate will appear on the ballot for a particular election. To appear on the ballot, a candidate must submit valid nomination documents (including a nomination paper and sufficient petition signatures) by the applicable deadline and successfully defend against any nomination challenge filed in court.
The filing period to qualify for the 2026 ballot is March 7, 2026 through May 6, 2026.
Candidate nominating petitions can be signed online by going to the E-Qual system: https://apps.azsos.gov/equal/ Candidates appreciate signatures gathered this way, because voters are presented with the list of petitions they are qualified to sign and it prohibits a voter from signing too many petitions for an office.
In addition, qualifying contributions for Clean Election candidates can also be made there.
